Whitewashed cliffs and the Aegean Sea in Santorini, Greece

Greece · Thessaly · Farsala / Katochori

Papathanasiou Family Winery

An organic family winery on the Thessalian plain. Three wines: Limniona blanc de noir and rosé, plus Merlot Porphyra.

Farsala sits at the heart of the Thessalian plain, between the Pindos and Agrafa ranges, about 40 km from the sea. Dry, cooling winds keep humidity off some 28 ha of organic vines.

Christos began in 1991 after studies in France; today Thanasis (winemaking) and Giorgos (vineyards) continue. The estate’s signature is rare Thessalian Limniona, from fresh red to blanc de noir and rosé.

For Japan we begin with three wines: Blanc de Noir, Rosé de Limniona, and Merlot Porphyra.
